What started out as the accompanying catalog for an exhibition at the Klingspor Museum, expanded into the first comprehensive monograph about the artist and typographer Marcus Behmer. The publication covers the artistic career over the course of 464 pages with 504 images, with as many works as possible reproduced in their original size.
Marcus Behmer was a proficient correspondent, so the monograph’s author Peter Christian Hall incorporated highlighted passages from letters throughout the book. Since the artist paid great attention to detail in his often minuscule works – a man after my own heart – I owed him no less, which he hopefully would have appreciated.
